In Cuba, Tourists have to pay everything in US Dollars. If you're living in a private casa, you need to pay in cash. Not everybody feels safe travelling around with a lot of cash. Traveller checks or Credit cards work fine in Cuba.

BUT: Neither traveller checks from US Banks, nor credit cards from US Institutions can be used in Cuba. Neither American Express traveller checks nor the Amexco credit cards – no matter from which country – are  accepted.

If you are not from the US and have Eurocard, Mastercard or Visa Credit cards from a non-US Bank, you can use them. At banks or large hotels, you can use them to withdraw cash. Anyway, in one way or an other you need US-Dollars in cash to pay.

TRAN$CARD has developed an International payment system that focuses exclusively on the finance card market. The ability to transfer funds globally has many practical applications ranging from sending funds to a relative or a loved one in need, to a business traveller or a tourist who has run out of available funds. Thus TRAN$CARD   helps US Citizens solve their liquidity problems in Cuba. Follow the link to TRAN$CARD in order to find out more.
